National Independent Talent Organization (NITO) has staked its claim as the preeminent advocacy organization working on behalf of independently owned and operated talent agencies, management firms, the artists they represent, and the touring personnel that help make the shows happen.
This 501 (C)(6) non-profit organization was established in April 2020 by an ad hoc group of 14 founding companies who came together initially to engage in dialogue and discussion as they attempted to navigate the shutdown of the live entertainment business.
NITO legislative initiatives and lobbying efforts were key in the inclusion of talent representatives in the “#SAVE OUR STAGES/Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG)” bill language and it’s eventual enactment into law.
NITO is currently engaged in dialogue and negotiations to uphold best business practices that better serve our artists. Efforts to that end include educating our community on vaccination efforts, examining ticketing fees and contractual language, working with other organizations to ensure safe venue re-openings and live events, and advocating for our artists and the small businesses within our community.
Since formation NITO’s ranks have expanded to over one thousand small businesses in the live entertainment industry.
